Global Workers of the Week

R is a native of Winchester and grew up at Victory Church. She has had the Father’s love for others for years, serving in Asia from 2007 to 2012. She returned there in January 2018 to study the language full time and share good news with college students. College students in this part of the world are earnestly searching for truth. They don’t believe in communism, they are questioning atheism, and they’re eager to find real meaning and purpose. It’s a rapidly shifting society with pressures mounting on every side; cultural traditions, family expectations, and ideological shifts. In the middle of the chaos a generation of college students hangs in the balance. The most influential demographic of this influential nation is desperate to meet God. The harvest is ready – these students have grown up without religion and recognize that there is a void, but most have never heard the gospel.

R is now married to J and moved to her husband’s city. In her former city R taught English. As hard as it was at first, she really came to enjoy teaching and the opportunities that she had to share the love of Jesus. She taught one year in the new city but the lengthy bus ride proved too difficult. All their attention is now on their vision to open a prayer and training center. As part of this vision they plan to open a cafe, and potentially a few other businesses. Please pray for direction and favor for the building they are interested in. The building is owned by the government church who has used a management company for the past 20 years, but they are taking back control of the building and requiring the current businesses to vacate the space. Please pray for God’s plans and timing as they pursue this vision as a way of building His Kingdom.

Please pray for R and J’s plans for this building. Pray that the Lord opens the door in His timing, that He gives R and J wisdom and discernment to hear and follow His voice. 

Pray for more people to partner with them to see this vision become a reality. 

Pray for God’s favor as J contacts the government church next month.  

Pray for many helpers to come along side R and J to help with both setting up/running the cafe and for the ministry there.

Pray for opportunities during lunar New Year happening now (February 16th to the end of the month). This is a time of family celebrations, but there are also people who don’t have a good family life or will be away from family. 

Pray that R and J are sensitive to the Holy Spirit in reaching out to others. 

Pray for J’s dad for healing and reconciliation in his parents’ relationship. 

Pray also for grace for R and J as J’s Dad stays with them for a while.
